Our Story

When I created Gayle Berthiaume Art & Photography, I wanted it to be about more than simply making and selling art. I chose three guiding ideas that reflect how I experience the world, approach creativity, and share what I learn with others.

Capture the Beauty of the Experience

Beauty is often found in the moments we might otherwise pass by—the light reflecting on the water, an unexpected expression, a sweeping landscape, or a small detail that makes us pause.

Photography and art give us a way to notice those moments, preserve them, and share the feelings they inspire. My goal is to capture not only what a place or experience looked like, but also the wonder, joy, and emotion of being there.

Create a Sense of Wonder

Wonder begins when we look at something in a new way.

It might come from using vibrant colors, photographing from an unusual angle, moving closer, noticing a reflection, or becoming curious about something we have never seen before. Through photography and art, I hope to encourage others to slow down, look more closely, and discover something unexpected.

Celebrate Learning

Learning opens our minds, builds confidence, creates opportunities, and helps us connect with one another.

As a lifelong educator, artist, and photographer, I believe learning should be filled with curiosity, exploration, and creativity. Mistakes are not failures—they are part of the journey and often lead us somewhere new.

Photography

I capture beauty as I experience life. When I do not have my “big camera,” a Nikon Z5, I always have my iPhone with me—and it takes amazing images.

As a visual learner, I am naturally aware of the beauty around me. I look for unusual angles, interesting details, reflections, light, color, and moments that others might pass by. My goal is to portray each image in a unique way so others can share a little of what I saw, felt, and experienced.

Art brings a sense of calm and relaxation to my life. I love learning from other artists, taking online classes, experimenting with new techniques, and simply giving myself permission to play.

I have always been drawn to art and to sharing it with others. During my years as an elementary teacher, I saw how learning artistic skills helped students slow down, focus, build confidence, and make meaningful connections with other areas of learning.

For me, art is not only about creating something beautiful. It is also about curiosity, discovery, and finding joy in the process.

Yes, I’m a geek—and proud of it.

I love creating with my iPad and MacBook Pro and exploring everything these powerful tools can do. There is something exciting about learning a new technique, experimenting until it works, and discovering another way to combine creativity with technology.

My Sea Creature Celebration Collection was created using my iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, and the Procreate app. I often begin with one of my own photographs for inspiration, then transform it into colorful digital artwork filled with personality and imagination.

Bringing together art, photography, and technology is one of my favorite parts of the creative process. It challenges me, inspires me, and continually gives me something new to learn.

What Should I Do If I Entered the Wrong Shipping Address?

Please carefully review your shipping address before completing your purchase.

If you notice an error after placing your order, contact me immediately with your order number and the correct address. There may be a short window in which the address can be updated.

Once an order has shipped, I may not be able to change the delivery address. I will still do everything I can to help you find the best possible solution.

Shipping & Taxes

Returns

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

You can always contact us for any return question.

 

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

 

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like digital download products, perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

 

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

 

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

 

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us.
